LEFT: "I am Fatima, 35 my child is Fowziya. I came with her and my 7 other children from Lower Shabelle to Mogadishu because of the drought. We had to sell everything, even our last chicken and come to the IDP camp near the destroyed parliament building. I built a makeshift shelter out of sticks and plastic and old cloth where we all live together. We get 3 donated meals a day, but I will go home as soon as the rain starts."
RIGHT: "I am Fatima Abukara Abdi.I am 12. I live at the K7 IDP camp. We came from Lower Shabelle because of the drought and problems with al Shabaab. I don’t remember how long I have been here. I stand in line for food at 11am, but sometimes when I get to the end there is nothing left. I spend the rest of day looking after my younger brothers and sisters. I am the middle of 8 children. I just started Koranic school 10 days ago at the camp. I want to be a mother when I grow up."
